Photonics Bretagne deploys a technology watch to stimulate innovation

Photonics Bretagne is an association that federates and represents the photonics sector in the region. Both a technological platform and a cluster of companies, it supports a network of more than 110 members (companies, research laboratories, etc.) committed to innovation through the mastery of light: optical fibers, sensors, spectroscopy, imaging, etc. The association also develops its own R&D projects and organises collective actions at regional, national and European level.

In 2024, Photonics Bretagne has decided to take over an in-house business intelligence service that had previously been outsourced. The objective: to continue to produce thematic newsletters with high added value for its members, while gaining in flexibility, business coherence and responsiveness.

The need is specific:

  • To ensure a detailed coverage of a technological field that is both narrow in sources and very wide in applications,
  • Integrate a qualitative and personalized approach for each monitoring segment (patents, application sectors, emerging trends),
  • Produce several monitoring letters per month, with a high level of demand, without increasing the workload.

Photonics Bretagne then chose Curebot, with a strong requirement on several points: ease of use, adaptation to a technological niche, sovereign hosting, regulatory compliance, but also human support.

From the first weeks, our team worked with Gwenaëlle Lefeuvre, Head of Network Animation, to build a tailor-made monitoring tool: configuration of specific bots, selection of sources, structuring of dashboards and methodological support so that the handling was done quickly and efficiently.

Results and impacts

Stand-alone production of monitoring letters
Unified and scalable platform
Monitoring aligned with the realities on the ground
Very positive feedback from the network

I greatly appreciated the contact of a team that never rested on its laurels and did everything to understand our needs and explain to me how to adapt my use of the platform to meet them.

The interest I saw in Curebot was having a single platform that allowed me to do almost everything, from content curation to analytics on personalized newsletters.
